Over 100 Victoria University students attended prospective member information sessions this year, in what committee members say is a record for the small but growing Golden Key Chapter.
This year the Victoria University chapter held, for the fist time, two information sessions for prospective students. Both, to the surprise of committee members, were extremely well attended.
The first Information session on Monday September 17 from 2:00pm, at the conference room of building K at the Footscray Park campus, had to move to a new, larger location at the last minute to accommodate what Chapter President Samuel Pearson estimated as around 80 students.
"According to our Facebook event, only four people said they were coming, so it was a big surprise" said Samuel, who conducted both information sessions in behalf of Susanna Chan. Unfortunately Susanna couldn't make either information session, due to previously arranged engagements, which would see her on the Gold Coast undertaking Golden Key related work.
The second Information Session on Thursday September 20 from 10:00am, at the Flinders Street campus saw an additional 30 students, says Samuel, who again was pleased with the turn out.
"My only regret, is not to have taken any photos of all the students" says Samuel. "Hopefully all will join us for our Annual General Meeting on October 4 and our New Members Reception later in the month on the 25th."
