Q&A - Australia's Cultural Identity
The Victorian Alliance of Golden Key (Golden Key chapters in Victoria), are holding a Q&A session about one of the most pressing debates in Australian society - Australia's Cultural Identity.
With globalisation and migration happening as we speak, Australian society is becoming more multicultural. Globalisation and migration brings new ideas and societies. As a young nation, Australia and Australians are on a quest searching for our identity and who we are. What does it mean to be an Australian? What do you think makes an Australian?
Panelists include:
- Francis Ventura who is the Youth Convenor of the Australian Republican Movement
- Nivy Balachandran from the Victorian Multicultural Commission
- Kashif Bouns the Multicultural Programs Coordinator from the AFL
- Michael Kelly, an Asylum Seeker Resource Centre Activist, VU Alumni of Immigration Law, Monash Alumni of Faculty of Arts
- Professor Karen Farquharson, the Academic Head of Humanities, Arts and Social Sciences at Swinburne
- And our moderator for the evening will be Andrew Roe the Director of Asia-Pacific Golden Key
Everyone is invited to attend this open event. The event will be held at Victoria University's Flinders Campus, centrally located close to Flinders Street Train station and trams.
